Toyota MR2 Supercharger

Note all these pictures are showing piston #3 that has been thoroughly cleaned, because this required the use of a brass wire brush some fine detailing of the detonation pitting has been lost. There is also some damage from the piston being handled to remove the grime, pin and rings. Also note these pictures are high resolution and around 400kb in size.

Intake side of piston, where most of the damage occurred, you can also see the flat lip on the piston top where it made contact with the head.

Some scoring of the pin bore, unknown if this was caused from some other incident or from particles of metal from the piston.

Underneath the ring land, this damage continues for the entire circumference of the piston on both the upper and lower lands and on the wall behind the piston ring.
